Aurelian Standard

Aurelian Standard (endonym: Aureth) is the majority language of Aurelios Prime and the oldest living civic language still used in modern interstellar law. It emerged from Human tribunal dialects and Vaelari testimony grammar, then became the base layer for both Dawn Cant and large parts of Trade Common.

How Aureth Formed

118 BS to 72 BS

Proto-Civic Phase

Early city-hold speech used in Human legal courts, heavy on command verbs and land law terms.

72 BS to 21 BS

Witness Fusion Phase

Vaelari testimony grammar merges into civic speech, adding evidential particles and precision markers.

21 BS to 27 AS

High Concord Phase

Formalized as Aurelios legal standard; becomes the source language for Dawnward oath documents.

27 AS onward

Split Register Era

Imperial and Concord institutions retain Aureth roots but diverge in tone, vocabulary, and rhetoric.

Writing System

Trilume Script (Modern Standard)

Script Structure

36 core graphemes: 18 consonant frames, 10 vowel marks, 8 grammatical seals.

Stroke Families

Stem strokes encode root class, Arc marks encode vowels, Crown marks encode case/evidence.

Directionality
